Gere Wines
Gere Winery is a story of family, passion and perseverance. Attila Gere, once a forester, fell in love with winemaking after tasting a glass from his future wife’s family cellar. Since establishing the family winery in Villány in 1991 he has transformed it into one of Hungary’s most respected estates. Today the Gere family farms over 70 hectares of organically certified vineyards across Villány’s limestone‑rich loess soils, planted at high density and managed with strict hand‑sorting and low yields. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts and reds mature for 14–20 months in new Hungarian oak barriques, a signature that adds spice and polish.
Attila Gere pioneered Cabernet Franc in Villány and crafts terroir‑driven wines that bridge Bordeaux structure with Mediterranean warmth. The Kopar blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon offers black cherry, cedar and fine cocoa over a taut mineral thread, while Solus – a 100% Merlot – has achieved legendary status, famously beating Pétrus in a blind tasting and earning 97 points from Falstaff.
Beyond these icons, the estate’s Villányi Franc and Attila Cuvée demonstrate finesse, balance and age‑worthy structure. Sustainability runs deep: grape seeds are pressed into oils and other products, and nothing goes to waste. This collection brings the breadth of Gere wines to Singapore, offering flagship bottlings and value‑driven reds that reflect the soul of Hungary’s southern wine capital.
