Egri Csillag
Egri Csillag (“Star of Eger”) is the white sibling to Hungary’s famed Bull’s Blood red. Crafted in northern Hungary’s Eger region, this blend must combine at least four varieties, often including Leányka, Hárslevelű, Furmint and Olaszrizling. The result? Bright, floral and zesty wines that capture Eger’s dual volcanic‑and‑limestone identity. In the glass, Egri Csillag layers orchard fruit, citrus and herbs over a taut mineral spine. Fresh acidity and a flinty finish betray the rhyolite tuff and limestone beneath the region.
Eger’s cool continental climate ensures these whites retain tension and finesse. A well‑made Egri Csillag offers honeysuckle and citrus blossom on the nose, crisp green apple and lime on the palate, and a clean, savoury finish that invites the next sip. It pairs seamlessly with sushi, seafood, light salads and Singapore brunch dishes.
Our collection showcases single‑vineyard bottlings like Boldogságos Egri Csillag, where volcanic tuff mixed with limestone yields extra depth and complexity
