On the nose, a burst of florals, aromatic potpourri and white-fleshed peaches, followed by a full, yet elegant, texture. Apples, grapefruit, white-fleshed fruits and lively minerality on the palate, ending off with a vibrant long finish.

Furmint Demi-Sec 2018

About →

This Furmint unfolds with its silky texture and viscosity, leaving a distinctive profile of captivating fruit depth. Tart grapefruit and bitter orange zest give the orchard aroma a fresh impetus. This experience is rounded off with notes of almonds and caramel. But what really stands out is the wonderful acidity, which, in combination with the lively minerals, brings a refreshing note and harmoniously balances the sweetness, keeping the demi-sec refreshing and lively.

Kiralyudvar has six main vineyards located in Tokaj’s heartland in the towns of Mád and Bodrogkeresztúr. All are historically important grand cru sites; including Henye, Percze, Becsek, and the great Lapis. The soils are clay and rock of volcanic origin (various Rhyolite tuffs). The dominant grapes are Furmint and Hárslevelű, with a small amount of Muskotály planted in the Danczka Vineyard.

𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧! Kiralyudvar is owned by Tony Hwang, who also owns the legendary Loire estate Domaine Huet. His experience at Huet has given him a unique vantage point for shaping his wines in Tokaj, blending the precision of Chenin Blanc with the historic traditions of Furmint.

The estate transitioned to biodynamic viticulture in 2008 and achieved full certification in 2015, a shift that has brought greater purity, definition and energy to the wines. Today, Királyudvar is widely regarded as one of Tokaj’s most forward-thinking producers, combining meticulous vineyard work with a deep respect for the region’s heritage.
