The vineyard soils are stony: volcanic rhyolite tufa with some zeolite and red clay. Some 80% of the land is planted with T85 and the old-type small-bunch Madárkás Furmint clones, and the rest with Hárslevelű, Sárgamuskotály and Kövérszőlő.
About half of the estate is planted with cordons at 1.4 x 0.8m and 1.0 x 1.0m, and can only be cultivated by hand. The other half is low-cordon at 1.8 x 1.0m density. This vineyard is cultivated traditionally with no use of herbicides or systematic chemicals.

𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧! The last decade (2010–2020) was a difficult period for winemakers. Before the stellar 2013 vintage, the region endured four consecutive years of heat and rain, making meaningful Tokaji Aszú production almost impossible.
Hot vintages pushed grapes into overripeness, leaving them overly robust and low in acidity – an undesirable combination for sweet wines. Wet vintages brought their own problems, producing dilute fruit, low yields and, in many cases, causing even greater damage than hot vintages because the quality of dry wines suffered too.
But after those four challenging years, winemakers were rewarded with the remarkable 2013 vintage. A treasure for the decades to come.
