About →

Tamlyn Currin puts it really nicely:

"There are top-class Pomerol producers who would be jealous of this wine. It's long sheath of cigar-spiced tannins – buffed to a sheen but not so polished that they've lost their heartwood grain – is drenched with sumptuously ripe fruit. So knee-bucklingly crimson it's like liquid rubies staked with kohl-black stilettos – Louboutin, eat your heart out. It's silky, fluent, softly pressed with dried oregano, sweet paprika and green peppercorns. But more than anything else, it's a lavish flood of crimson fruit.

It's not too soon to drink it now (I dare you to resist), but it will also stay the test of time."

Kopár is one of Villány’s most esteemed sites and a benchmark for the region’s full-bodied reds. It sits on warm, south-facing slopes where limestone, clay and loess create a soil matrix that delivers both richness and precision. The vineyard benefits from Villány’s distinctly Mediterranean influence and this combination of heat, sheltered exposure and mineral-driven soils gives Solus its signature profile.

𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧! The Kopar is, as far as we know, the only Hungarian wine that is sold en primeur. It sells out six months before release, and collectors from around the world snap up their allocations the moment it becomes available.

Gere

The history of the Gere Attila Winery started 7 generations ago and the business, just like before, is run by all members of the family.

Respect for the soil, proper selection of varietals & technical precision in the cellar have all contributed to preserving and expressing the aromas and flavours true to Villány.

Attila Gere has taken it one step further by only using locally selected, indigenous yeast strains for the fermentation process.

This contributes to the character of their natural, individual, terroir-driven estate wines and we at The Wine Key are proud to be able to share these wines with you!
